Tantva Design Challenge

Design meets identity. Art meets action.

"Unleash your roots. Redesign your heritage." Tantva presents “My Mitti, My Motif" – a national-level design competition that invites artists, designers, cultural storytellers and a passionate crafter to celebrate their homeland through the language of fashion. This is your canvas to transform the essence of your state’s culture, art, motifs, and traditions into a design that speaks to the world. Whether it’s the colours of Madhubani, the boldness of Banjara embroidery, the rhythm of Bhangra, or the elegance of Kathakali, we’re looking for wearable stories stitched with pride and identity. Submit a T-shirt design that is inspired by your home state's culture and heritage and has a modern streetwear fusion. Selected designs will be featured in Tantva’s first drop and credited to the original creators. Winners take home cash prizes, exclusive merchandise, certificates, and most importantly — recognition.

Design Submission Requirements

  • Upload Design File ( .JPG / .JPEG / .PNG / maximum 20MB)

  • Title of Your Design

  • Description of Your Design (maximum 100 words) – How does it reflect your culture/state?

  • Medium Used: Digital / Hand-drawn / AI-assisted (with declaration)

  • Originality Confirmation (Yes/No)

Judging Criteria

  • Cultural relevance

  • Creativity and originality

  • Wearability and adaptability to apparel

  • Visual storytelling

  • Technique and execution quality

Important Timelines

  • Competition start date - 15th August

  • Participation start date - 15th August

  • Participation end date - 20th August

  • Submission timeline - 20th August - 27th August

  • Result and final announcements - 1st September 

Prizes & Incentives

  • Winner - Rs. 5,000 /- + shoutout + design feature + merchandise

  • 1st Runner Up - Rs. 2,500/- + shoutout + design feature + merchandise

  • 2nd Runner Up - Rs 1,000/- + shoutout + design feature + merchandise

  • Top 3 designs will be featured in the TANTVA collection with our first drop with recognition on our official platforms. 

  • Top 10-20: Featured on Tantva's Instagram and a shoutout

  • Participation Certificate (digital PDF for all participants)
